Delightfully simple. Disarmingly charming. This is an antique cast iron bed that can fit into any decorating environment and would look right
at home in a contemporary setting, rustic farmhouse or cottage or cabin and everything in between.
Starting out as a double size bed (54",) which was the largest size made at the turn of the last century, this bed has been stretched out to 60" and
the side rails have been lengthened to accommodate a modern day queen size mattress.
During the restoration process, the old lead paint was sandblasted off and replaced with a durable baked on lead free paint in a gloss antique
This iron bed was handmade before the start of World War One. When the war started in 1914, production of cast iron beds dropped significantly because iron was diverted for the war effort. After the war, metal beds were mass produced in aluminum, a much easier and lighter metal to work with.
Side rails and cross supports included.
Bedding and accessories not included.
Headboard: 51.5"; Footboard: 39"; Width: 60"; Drop: 14"
